Traditional Sauna.
Ice bath (cold):
An ice bath involves immersing the body in cold water, usually between 5°c to 15°c. We have our cold plunge pool set at 18°c and our ice bath set at between 5-8°c . Available for all levels to have a cold dip.
The cold temperature causes vasoconstriction, which narrows blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the extremities and internal organs.
Ice baths are believed to reduce inflammation, numb pain, promote muscle recovery, and enhance circulation when contrasted with the preceding heat exposure.
The alternating exposure to heat and cold in hot/cold therapy is thought to stimulate circulation, boost the immune system, improve lymphatic drainage, and facilitate muscle recovery. it can also invigorate the body and mind, increase alertness, and promote a sense of well-being.
The specific regimen for hot/cold therapy can vary based on individual preferences and goals. some people may alternate between sauna sessions and ice baths multiple times, while others may opt for a single cycle of heat followed by cold. it's essential to listen to your body's cues and adjust the intensity and duration of each component accordingly.
